Overview

Discover the spectacular landscapes of Tierra del Fuego on an exciting 4×4 adventure from Ushuaia, combining mountain scenery, forests, valleys, lakes and an off-road experience.

The tour begins with pick-up from your accommodation in Ushuaia and continues along National Route 3 toward the northeast, passing the impressive Mount Olivia and Cinco Hermanos peaks. During the journey through Carbajal Valley, you will observe cirque glaciers, hanging valleys and the characteristic peat bogs of the region.

The excursion continues toward Las Cotorras Valley and Haruwen before ascending to the famous Garibaldi Pass, where you can enjoy panoramic views of Hidden Lake. Afterwards, the adventure continues along an off-road circuit toward the shores of Lake Fagnano.

The experience also includes a complete lunch with typical regional dishes, including the traditional Fuegian lamb, before returning to Ushuaia.

Itinerary

Day 1: LAKES ADVENTURE FULL DAY

09:00 AM: Pick-up from your hotel in Ushuaia and departure along National Route 3 toward the northeast of Tierra del Fuego.
09:30 AM: Travel through Carbajal Valley, surrounded by Mount Olivia and Cinco Hermanos, while observing cirque glaciers, hanging valleys and extensive peat bog landscapes.
10:15 AM: Arrival in the Las Cotorras Valley area for a short technical stop and introduction to the regional lunch experience, including traditional Fuegian lamb.
10:45 AM: Continue along National Route 3 toward Haruwen, enjoying the surrounding forests and Patagonian scenery.
11:15 AM: Stop at Haruwen, where passengers can taste a local non-alcoholic beverage produced in the area.
11:45 AM: Begin the ascent toward Garibaldi Pass, the highest point along the route and one of the most impressive panoramic locations in Tierra del Fuego.
12:15 PM: Stop at the Garibaldi Pass viewpoint to enjoy panoramic views of Hidden Lake and the surrounding mountains.
12:45 PM: Descend from Garibaldi Pass and begin the 4×4 off-road circuit, traveling through natural terrain toward Lake Fagnano.
01:30 PM: Arrival at the shores of Lake Fagnano, with free time to enjoy the scenery, walk around the area and take photographs.
02:00 PM: Departure from Lake Fagnano and return through the off-road circuit toward the lunch area.
02:30 PM – 03:30 PM: Enjoy a complete regional lunch, featuring typical dishes from Ushuaia and Tierra del Fuego, including Fuegian lamb.
03:30 PM: Begin the return journey toward Ushuaia.
04:00 PM approximately: Arrival in Ushuaia and transfer back to your hotel or a central drop-off point according to passenger preference.

15 Days In-Depth Tour of Peru

The tour was good but not very suitable for elderly travelers because of the early wake-up times.

The long bus trip from Nazca to Arequipa was especially tough. We left Nazca at 4 PM and arrived in Arequipa around 2:30 AM.

Tour guide Tatiana and all drivers did a very good job.
